What are Rothy’s vegan shoes made of?

At Rothy’s, we believe in building a sustainable future—and that starts with making the right choices from the very beginning. Our vegan shoes for women and men are knit with our signature thread spun from plastic bottles, and feature a range of other sustainable materials depending on the style.

Our women’s flats and men’s slip-on loafers feature eco-friendly rubber outsoles that contain natural, renewable rubber and natural minerals (in other words, sand). The outsoles on our men’s sneakers and women’s lace-up sneakers are crafted with a bio-based TPU (made with corn). Lastly, the durable insoles in our women’s flats and the cushy footbed in our women’s and men’s sneakers are made with a bio-based PU—which utilizes castor oil as an eco-friendly plant source. What types of vegan shoes does Rothy’s have?

All of our classic rPET styles knit with our signature thread (spun from repurposed plastic water bottles) are 100% vegan. From chic flats for women to comfortable sneakers and loafers for men, our shoes are designed with the planet in mind. Like all Rothy’s, our vegan shoes are built to last. Our signature thread and sturdy outsoles make our shoes remarkably flexible and durable, so they can move with you wherever you go. Bonus: Our vegan shoes are also 100% machine washable—which means you can count on your shoes looking as good as new after every wash. Wear, wash, repeat. It’s as easy as that.
