Opposites don’t just attract—they often complement. That’s what happened when Roth, an art and design obsessed gallerist, first met Hawthy, an impeccably dressed banker.

One would have expected them to build different things. And no one expected them to create a shoe, let alone a women’s shoe. But these two distinct men shared a common thread. Their curious spirits led them to constantly ask why?

Why can’t style and comfort co-exist?
Why aren’t shoes washable?
Why is the footwear industry so wasteful?
Why doesn’t the perfect flat exist?

These questions led to four years of criss-crossing the globe in search of research, development, deep conversation and prototypes. Through this experience, ROTHY’S was born. 

An innovative design company determined to approach shoemaking in a way that had never been attempted before. The individual sensibilities Hawthy and Roth each brought to the quest, from decision-making prowess to style and aesthetic, were two halves of a whole. Together their boundless vision ignited a movement. A brand unlike any other. Beautiful and responsible. Covetable and comfortable.

Ten years later Rothy’s next chapter is just beginning. But our founding principles remain true, and the spirit of curiosity continues to guide our every move.
