FAQ

Have a question for us? Start with our FAQ section.
We think you'll find what you're looking for here!

1) What’s behind the pricepoint of the Kids Sneaker?

We use the same process to make our Kids Sneaker as we do our Women’s Sneaker. This process is a bit more efficient than the way we make our other silhouettes, therefore it takes less time. Because our manufacturing time impacts our cost, less time = lower cost. We are happy to offer the Kids Sneaker at $55!

2) Can the kids sneaker be worn without socks?

Like all of our styles, the Kids Sneaker was developed to be worn without socks. However, it is absolutely doable (and super cute) to wear socks with the Kids Sneaker.

3) Why doesn’t the kids sneaker have a ‘midsole’ like the womens sneaker?

When enhancing the comfort factor of our Kids Sneaker, we decided to build the additional heel cushion directly into the outsole, rather than adding additional pieces to the shoe. We figure busy parents and kids on-the-move would appreciate one less thing to keep track of when washing!

4) How does the kids sneaker fit?

Like all of our styles, the Kids Sneaker should fit comfortably right out of the box. The upper should fit snugly across the top of the foot, but it should not squeeze the foot restrictively. You should be able to run an index finger comfortably between the upper and the top of the foot.

5) Does it fit differently than the girls loafer?

The kids sneaker has more volume at the forefoot than our Girls Loafer, which allows for a bit more wiggle room for toes.

6) Will the kids sneaker fit a boys foot differently than girls?

The Kids Sneaker was developed in line with industry standards for unisex kids shoes and growing feet. It should not have a significantly different fit from boys’ to girls’ feet. You should find that our Kids Sneaker fits consistently with other common kids’ brands.

7) How should I wash the kids sneaker?

Just like all Rothy’s shoes, the Kids Sneaker is machine washable. To wash the Kids Sneaker, remove the insoles (you don’t have to, but it helps get them extra-clean), and place the insoles and sneakers into the wash on COLD. Once finished, simply remove and place them in a dry spot on the counter to air-dry. It should usually take no more than 24 hours to dry completely.

8) How do I clean the white outsole of the kids sneaker?

The white outsole of the sneaker will likely get dirty with regular wear and playtime. To remove heavy markings on the outsole, we recommend a soft bristle brush and a cleaning solution like the one in our Care Kit.

9) Will you have new colors or more colors soon?

We have lots of fun colors and prints in the works, and we can’t wait to continue to update our collection for little Rothy’s fans. Stay tuned!

10) Will you be making any of the kids colors in the womens sneaker?

We love all of the colors and patterns of our Kids Sneakers, so you never know when one of them will make an appearance in women’s sizes. Make sure to check back from time to time to keep an eye on new Women’s Sneaker releases.

11) What colors are best for boys/best for girls?

We developed the Kids Sneaker collection to appeal to children of all ages—boys and girls!
