We’re well into the holidays with cozy sweaters, festive tunes and yummy sweet treats. As the days get chillier and nights get longer, our new merino wool styles are here to keep you warm and toasty. These soft, plush shoes add just the right amount of fun and festive to the season—so you can be wrapped and ready for all the festivities that await.
We sat down with our Creative Director, Erin Lowenberg, to get a behind the scenes peek into these luxe, ribbon-inspired styles.
What was the inspiration behind the design?
“This collection was inspired by the warmth of the holidays and the almost magical beauty of a wrapped present. The colorful striped motifs in these shoes mimic the little stitches and details of traditional ribbons. We wanted to create a wearable, festive palette that you could take from holiday shopping to the airport, and everywhere in between.”
These styles are part of The Merino Collection. How do you approach designing for merino wool?
“There are a few things about Merino that I especially love—the wool blend that we use gives a warmer texture and softer touch to our shoes, while maintaining support and stability. For this collection, we wanted to take advantage of what only wool can do in making a cozy and stylish shoe that is still sustainable and machine-washable.”
How does this collection build upon our existing merino styles?
“These new shoes are meant to sit beautifully with our existing styles. We started fall with some beautiful neutrals and closet staples. As we moved into winter, we wanted to add a livelier, brighter hit of color to the holidays. The ribbon theme gave us the opportunity to work with a vibrant multicolored palette of pinks, greens and blues that look perfect on every wishlist.”
How do you recommend styling these this holiday season?
“We designed these to be holiday-ready styles that you can take anywhere! These cozy shoes pair just as perfectly with jeans and a sweater as they do with your holiday best. You can go from running errands to being party-ready in these soft, comfortable styles.”
