Solid Shoe

"This is definitely a comfortable flat with ample support. My only reason for a four star rating is that both shoes rubbed the back of my ankle and it made a squeaky noise the first few times I wore them. Hoping I’ll break them in soon and won’t need bandaids."

Instantly uncomfortable

"I had the original flats in black and absolutely loved them. This shoe has none of the same comfort. As soon as I put them on the back of the shoe chafed against my Achilles. I can’t even walk in them. For the last 4 days I’ve put them on hoping for a better experience but I can’t wear them. I’m so bummed because this was my favorite everyday shoe. Sadly, they are going back."

They have changed - not for the better

"Bought these in my same size 9, hoping to get a new pair of the same great shoe of a few years ago. The cut is now much wider and looser and generally clunky. The new insole also feels cheap. I wear my originals everywhere esp when I travel. Disappointed doesn’t cover it."

Love Past Rothys Sad They Changed

"I've been a loyal Rothys customer since the beginning. I have many pairs of flats and the minx color was the first pair I ever bought. Those old ones have long worn out and I was so excited to see the color come back. Rothys have always been the only flats that never gave me blisters or rubbed the back of my heel. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. The top of the back of these shoes is so much higher than past models. I can't wear these without band-aids, just like every other flat out there. They're super comfortable otherwise, and I love the upgrades they've made to cushioning, but the back comes way too high now. I'm super disappointed."

They have changed- not for the better

"Bought the same size as previous years in this shoe. I wear my old ones very often esp when I travel. These new versions are cut very wide, very long and overall look and feel clunky and ugly. Desert cat is also a much better neutral than this current sable spot. Returning, and not sure I’ll ever try again, these are awful."

This is my 4th pair. This one meh.

"Honestly, these fit different. They don’t flex with my foot steps. The back rubs the back of my foot uncomfortably out of the box. I want the red ones, but not this style. Not sure why the size doesn’t fit like the others. But it doesn’t."

Did my research and they fit tight

"Before ordering, I made sure to do my research on fit as I have heard many differing opinions. Even after researching, they fit tight. I am hoping they stretch out over time, but for now I can't wear them long. I do really praise the arch support in them though!"

Need more toe room and cushion

"I bought these for a convention event after hearing the cost was worth the investment due to their reputation. Standing for 8+ hours these flats came up short, up front I need mode toe room so my toes weren’t scrunched together and instead could spread out comfortably and the cushion wasn’t sufficient for long day wear as the day progressed it felt as though I was barefoot."

Trouble finding the right size

"Had to return them - I love the style but found that my regular size was wayyy too big, these are def not TTS. Hesitant to try half a size smaller because sending them back costs me 10 euros. Had the same issue earlier this year with the Cruiser Mary Jane - half a size smaller was still not ideal, it rubs the big toe of my right foot (but I kept those anyway). Having said all that: I do love the look of these!"

The new inserts don't work for me

"I had read posts from people saying the "new" flat with its insert don't work for them, so I ordered with trepidation and fingers crossed. Sure enough! The insert raised my foot up too high in the shoe so that it was uncomfortably tight. I solved it by taking out the new inserts and putting in a pair from another of my Rothy shoes. Problem solved! I have been waiting and waiting for a plain "brown" shoe and I really love this color."
