Rothy’s has always been rooted in the belief that things can be done differently. That conventional tactics are meant to be questioned. Not just with footwear—though we have loved reimagining that category—but manufacturing as a whole.

The apparel industry is responsible for a staggering amount of waste. Our future depends on acknowledging this problem and approaching manufacturing in new, earth-conscious ways.

At Rothy’s, we’re committed to constantly optimizing our sustainable manufacturing efforts in our wholly owned factory. And today marks the next chapter of our story: the launch of The Bag Collection. 

We spent over a year perfecting our bags. Each one is knit to shape from 100% recycled materials, including yarn extruded from ocean-bound marine plastic. Eight million tons of plastic finds its way into the oceans each year, and it's predicted that by 2050 there may be more plastic than fish in our waterways. That is a devastating statistic which reinforces the urgent need to combat plastic pollution.

It’s possible to rethink how we craft everyday essentials through sustainable manufacturing and materials, and we’re dedicated to finding solutions.
