That’s a wrap, 2020.

What's there to say about 2020 that hasn't already been said? It's been quite the year. But before we close it out, we're taking a look back to celebrate what went right.

2020 at a glance.

Give back.

We donated over $100,000 to groups close to our heart, like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Direct Relief, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Surfrider Foundation. Plus, our community—aka you!—helped us raise an additional $25,000 for Direct Relief. Truly and sincerely, thank you.

New, new, new.

133 new colors and 8 new styles graced the feet of Rothy’s fans everywhere. You loved them so much, we kept ‘em coming.

The people have spoken.

Your most-loved shoe was The Point, specifically The Point in Black Solid, and your must-have bag was The Essential Tote in Slate Camo.

Real talk.

To further our mission of inclusivity, and foster the well-being of our people, we met with each other as well as external diversity and inclusion experts to develop a list of action items. Check out this post to learn more about our commitments.

Spread the love.

This year we expanded our discount program to include doctors, nurses and first responders—which tripled the amount of participants.

Turn it up.

We curated 5 new playlists on Spotify with feel-good tunes. Over 1,500 of you jammed out with us—or danced along in your new shoes.

Sustainable styles.

In February, we celebrated turning 50 million plastic water bottles into eco-friendly shoes and bags. Since then we’ve reached even further, closing out the year with over 74 million plastic bottles repurposed.

The more, the merrier.

Our first-ever bag collection launched in March. And with it came a brand new material—ocean-bound marine plastic—which is collected within 30 miles of coastlines and marine environments.

Our community’s got style.

We loved seeing how you wore your Rothy’s. More than 16,000 of you dressed to impress and tagged us with #rothysinthewild on Instagram.

Let’s hear it for retail.

Three new stores joined our retail family. Say hello to additional locations in Boston, New York City and Los Angeles.

Masks in the mix.

We developed chic, sustainable and machine-washable masks for adults and kids. We also donated 100,000 disposable, non-medical masks to Mask Match, a peer-to-peer platform that helps get masks to the people and organizations that need them most.

Can you hear me?

The Rothy’s Team spent a whopping 47,466 hours together on Zoom while designing new products, making marketing plans and brainstorming fresh ideas.

A big thank you from the Rothy’s Team for being a part of our community this year. We can’t wait to step into 2021 with you.
