Meet the ultimate father-son duo.

We’ve been feeling a lot of community love lately, and we can’t get enough of celebrating you. That’s why we’re spotlighting Rick and Jerry—a father-son duo who share a love for UCLA football and repping Rothy’s. And with Father’s Day right around the corner, we couldn’t think of a better pair to talk all things shoes, life experiences and fatherly advice with. Let’s get into it.

Jerry + Rick

Tell us about yourself.

Jerry: I’m currently the Wide Receiver coach at UCLA. I played as a quarterback at UCLA and was actually born here at the campus hospital. Crazy enough, I was taken to the football field to visit my dad before I ever went home from the hospital. Probably not recommended by the doctors, but I am proud to be born and raised a Bruin.

Rick: I was also a former quarterback at UCLA, but I am currently a CBS broadcaster and Sirius XM radio host. I used to be the head football coach at UCLA, University of Washington, Colorado and also spent some time coaching in the NFL. Now I spend my free time on any golf course that has a tee time available!

What was your first pair of Rothy’s? And which is your favorite?

Jerry: The RS01 Sneaker in Bone is my go-to favorite, but The Driving Loafer in Forest Camo is great for game day.

Rick: I’m fairly new to Rothy’s, but I love The RS01 Sneaker! I want them in every color.

If you could travel or live anywhere, where would it be and why?

Jerry: Italy. My wife and I got engaged in Venice and we travel there at least once a year. If they put an NFL team in Europe though, I’d be the first to get on that staff!

Rick: Nashville, so I could become a country music singer.

The best advice your dad has ever given you in a sentence?

Jerry: The definition of luck is when opportunity meets preparation.

Rick: Pinch yourself and get going.

What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Jerry: I’m excited to travel in the Italian Alps and Mallorca, Spain for a few weeks before we get started with football camp in August.

Rick: We’re taking a trip to Pebble Beach to celebrate Jerry and his wife Nicole’s 30th birthday. I’ll go golfing and they’ll spend some time in nature. It's the perfect spot!

More to celebrate.

We also wanted to shout out all the dads, husbands, brothers and friends in our community ahead of Father’s Day. You deserve something special for all you do.
